Animal Services hours expanded

According to a recent notice from Lyon County Emergency Services Director Jeff Page, the Silver Springs Animal Shelter has expanded the hours it will be open to the public.

Kennel hours:

• Friday - 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Excluding holidays)
• Saturday & Sunday - 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Office Hours:

• Monday – Sunday - 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Excluding holidays)

Lyon County Animal Services will have at least one Animal Services Officer on duty seven days a week from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Excluding holidays).

In 2009 Lyon County Animal Services saw a 62% decrease in dogs euthanized and a 61% increase in dogs being rescued.

Lyon County Animal Services provides services to the residents of Smith Valley, Mason Valley, Silver Springs, Stagecoach, Mark Twain, Dayton, Dayton Valley, Mound House and Silver City.
