Moron: Noun: A very stupid Person. (Cambridge Dictionary)

It is apparent that in Lyon Co. we have 3 morons serving on the county

commission, as evidenced by the recent vote on the master plan change for

the Santa Maria Ranch Development. The morons in question are

Commissioners Tibbals, McPherson, and Mortensen, who all voted for

the master plan change. It must be noted that both commissioners Roberts

and Hunewill strongly opposed this monstrosity, however failed in persuading

the moronic majority.

This change will allow for 2192 low cost housing units where only 568 high

end housing units were permitted under the existing Planned Unit

Development. The change was opposed by the Planning Commission, Planning

Director, Planning Manager, County Sheriff, and the people of Dayton as

expressed in the existing master plan. Possibly our moronic county

commissioners are also hearing impaired, because they didn’t appear to hear

any of the recommendations from staff.

Perhaps these morons acted on the assumption that it didn’t really matter

to them. None of them live in Dayton, however the end result will be a

massive tax increase for all property owners in Lyon Co. It is a well known

fact that low cost housing represents a net loss in revenue. The revenue

generated does not cover the cost of required county services. Oh and I

almost forgot to mention that the high end housing under the previous PUD

does generate sufficient revenue to cover services. Fiscal responsibility is

obviously beyond the mental scope of our moronic majority.

And so citizens of Lyon Co. when your taxes go up, and up, I hope that you

make a point to thank the moronic commissioners, who apparently believe

that it is their responsibility to bail out developers at the expense of the

citizens. I know that I always get a “Warm and Fuzzy feeling” knowing that

my tax dollars subsidize development that dramatically and negatively

changes the town that I call home.
